Popular performers from the River Entertainment
Productions' theater company will comprise the casts in the Bridge Theater's
2008 summer season in Whitehall, The "country's most unique" theater opens
-Friday July 11 with the cabaret "Three's Company" featuring pianist/singer
Kate
Burns along with soprano Bonnie Williams and baritone Barry Corlew. They
will appear again -Friday July 18.
The musical revue season opens Saturday,
-July 12 with "Richard Rodgers & Pals" a show based on the works of
composer Rodgers and his lyricists Larry Hart and Oscar Hammerstein 2nd.
Hart wrote some of the breeziest lyrics of the '30s and '40s while Hammerstein
complemented Rodgers soaring music in the '40s, '50s & '60s. The cast
includes Bonnie Williams, Barry Corlew, William Carmello and Janet Stasio.
This new revue also plays Saturdays,
-July 19 & July 26.
Bert Mayne and his daughter, Jennifer return in their cabaret "Family Duo" on
two Fridays, -July 25 and August 15. They have appears previously
at the Bridge Theater where their folk songs have proved very popular with
Whitehall audiences. Soprano Judy Merriam will return Fridays,
-August 1 & 8 for her fourth year as a Bridge Theater cabaret performer.
Her "Judi's Encore" includes a collection of some of her hits in the many
musical comedy roles she's performed in the last 20 years. Keyboardist
Vince Bonafede will accompany her. Merriam will also be seen in the
popular Irish revue "Ireland
Forever--2008" that will be presented on Saturdays, -August 2 & 9. The
presentation of the Irish popular music, fold songs & bar room ditties will also
feature Bert Mayne, Barry Corlew and Janet Stasio along with Irish dancers
Jennifer Jones & Mary Jane Fawcett.
The concluding cabaret of the season "Two's Company"
with Janet Stasio and Richard Harte will be offered Fridays, -August 22 & 29.
Stasio returns to the Bridge Theater after a summer's absence while Harte last
appeared in Whitehall six years ago. He will offer songs from more than a
dozen of his leading musical comedy roles while more than a dozen of his leading
musical comedy roles while Stasio will complement him with classic romantic
ballads from Broadway.
The final revue to be presented -August 16, 23 & 30 is
"Lenny's Legacy". A tribute to Leonard Bernstein's memorable musical comedy
music for a number of Broadway hits including "West Side Story" and
"Candide".
Bonnie Williams will join Richard Harte and Janet Stasio, along with
Barry
Corlew in the cast of this revue. Vince Bonafede will accompany them on
the keyboard.
Our 3rd Annual First Nations
Intertribal POW-WOW will be held on -August 9-10 2008, at the
Whitehall Canal Side Park, Whitehall NY off Rte 4. Come and share in Indian
Ceremony Dances, Drums, Flute, Storytelling, Poetry Reading, Songs, Music and
all kinds of arts. Also there will be hand crafted items for show and
sale. Come and enjoy, there is something for all ages and admission is
