'2009' Bridge Theater Program for Matinee Tour Groups
This year we are planning a great '2009' summer season at the Bridge Theater in Whitehall. We are sure that your group(s) will surely enjoy not only the Bridge Theater show, but also everything else that Whitehall has to offer. I call your attention to the "Onward Champlain" production. This show was written by the Artistic Director of the Bridge Theater, Martin P. Kelly especially for the Champlain-Hudson Quadricentennial celebration. As the name implies, the Quadricentennial recognizes the 400th year anniversary for the discovery by Samuel de Champlain of the Lake that bears his name while at the same time Hendry Hudson coming from the south, discovered and explored the mighty river that nears his name; The Hudson River. Whitehall being geographically in the center of this historic exploration proved to be an exciting location from which to wirness the growth of our nation.
Martin Kelly captures this excitement in the "Champlain Onward" in that he takes us back to these early days on Lake Champlain and works his way through the historic trail of the French and Indian Wars, Benedict Arnold, etc. all the way up to our times. He follows history's trail with the aid of drama and music.
"Champlain Onward" is the production which will be presented every Saturday night during July & August as well as at our new Matinee Tour Group performances every Wednesday at either 10:00 am or 2:00 pm during July & August. You can download the application which indicates the actual Wednesday dates involved. In addition to these dates the official MTG season starts by mid-May and closes following Columbus Day weekend in October.
